ABOUT THE HOTEL
We provide central accommodation in the unique medieval town of Visby, inside the city walls, near Almedalen and Congress Hall Wisby Strand, close to museums, shops, cafes and restaurants. The hotel is three-star, fresh and modern, with an old-fashioned charm. Stay with us and you end up in the middle of medieval Visby's inner city!
The rooms have a personal character and are equipped with shower/wc, TV, radio, refrigerator and hair dryer. Wireless internet and guest computer are available free of charge for all hotel guests.
HOTEL GUTE'S HISTORY
The house at Mellangatan was formerly both a templar room and a cinema. The first ones were the Good Templars that built the house in 1887. Those who built the property were members of the old Hickmanian logs, an American branch of IOGT, which came to Sweden and Gothenburg, where the first example was formed on November 5, 1879.
This became the official venue for the Visby branch of the NGTO National Template Order, which at the merger of the Templar Order became the NTO, the National Model Order 1922. By that name, the NTO premises remained until 1974 when the construction company Arriba bought the property and, with this, NTO leaves its property, which has been the supreme movement of the sobriety since 1887.

Your accomodation should be prepaid. A couple of days before arrival, you will recive an e-pay link were you can pay for your stay or/and extras.

Check-in and check-out
You always have access to the room by 15.00, but if the room is ready you can of course check in earlier. Check-out is no later than 11.30.

The hotel is not wheelchair accessible.
Parkering
Hotell Gute does not have its own parking spaces, but there ar places to rent at our sister hotel Breda Blick www.bredablick.se, a short walk from the hotel. Please contact us before arrival if you wish to rent a parking for an additional 100 SEK /night. In Visby, we have paid parking. If the car stays long, we recommend the parking lot at Kruttornet. During the summer there is limited car traffic in the inner city, but you can always drive to the hotel for loading and unloading.
